2019 JACKSONVILLE FILM FESTIVAL: ANNOUNCES FESTIVAL AND FILM SUBMISSION DATES


Jacksonville, Florida - May 1, 2019

Jacksonville Film Festival is pleased to announce the dates for the 2019 Film Festival November 15 - November 17 at the San Marco Theatre.

2019 Jacksonville Film Festival is going back to the city’s roots this year with its festival theme ‘First Hollywood’. For more than 100 years, Jacksonville has played an important role in the USA’s film history. Jacksonville was once known as the “Winter Film Capital of the World” and was home to 30 film studios. The festival celebrates Jacksonville’s glorious movie making past by serving as a destination for the independent film community and encouraging a new generation of filmmakers to utilize the city as their canvas.

Film Festival is now officially accepting film submissions through the Festival’s page on https://jacksonvillefilmfestival.com/2019/film-submissions as of May 1, 2019. Filmmakers can submit feature films, shorts, animations, documentaries, student films and more. Awards will be given to the Best Narrative Feature, Best Documentary Feature, Best Short Narrative, Best Short Documentary and Best of Festival.

  • Wednesday, May 1, 2019 - Film Submissions Opening Date

  • Monday, July 1, 2019 - Earlybird Deadline

  • Thursday, August 1, 2019 - Regular Deadline

  • Friday, August 30, 2019 - Late Deadline

Jacksonville Film Festival is an annual international film festival that showcases in-competition and out-of-competition American and International independent films. The festival celebrates Jacksonville’s glorious moviemaking past by serving as a destination for the independent film community and encouraging a new generation of filmmakers to utilize the city as their canvas. It is a not-for-profit organization.
