After graduating from Florida State University with both a BFA in Film and a BA in English, Miguel packed up and drove cross-country to Silver Lake, California. Once in LA, Miguel worked his way up the mailroom at APA to TV Lit assistant and then made the jump to Shondaland, first as assistant to Shonda Rhimes and then as a writers’ assistant on Scandal. In that time Miguel wrote an episode of the Grey’s Anatomy webseries, co-wrote an episode of Scandal and sold a pilot about a major league baseball player struggling to stay in the closet titled Hardball to Logo.  After being selected as part of the Disney•ABC Writing Program, Miguel was staffed on Freeform’s Stitchers where he wrote until the show’s final season.  Miguel’s Selena fanboy dreams came true when he sold a pitch inspired by the Latinx superstar to ABC with Scooter Braun producing. Miguel’s recent writing credits include Netflix’sFirst Kill produced by Emma Roberts, and HULU/Onyx Collective’s Unprisoned starring Kerry Washington and Delroy Lindo. Miguel most recently sold his pitch Trap Queen to Freeform with Danny Strong and Scooter Braun producing, a queer romance set in the vibrant Puerto Rican Trap Music scene.
